A little about me...
Hi! I'm Jewel, an LA based live event artist.In middle school I had a pencil case as large as my backpack filled with real ink pens (a rarity for a 13 year old), markers, and sparkly gel pens imported from Korea. I would color code all my class notes (the pink always had to go with green, duh!) and pay so much attention to making sure my letters were neat that I'd stay up all night writing, not doing, my homework. Honestly, to a girl from Korea who moved to America not knowing any English, viewing the alphabets as shapes, not words, was only natural.
My obsession with neat handwriting and pretty lettering then evolved into drawing and painting, and I moved to New York to study visual art and art history at Columbia University. Now back in LA and with over 10 years of experience as an artist, I've worked creatively with names like Apple, Warner Bros, Fwee, Etude House, Havyn, and more.
My goal is to help you take your creative visions from concept to reality.
Some fun facts while I've got you...
• After anything artmaking, my second favorite activity is traveling. Most recent destination: Sydney, Australia!
• I speak Korean and Japanese fluently. The former is my mother tongue, while the latter I got from growing up in Torrance, California, which has the largest Japanese American population in all of U.S.
• I love any sort of beverages. When I'm working at home, this is the order: coffee, black tea, green tea, white tea, rooibos. Sometimes I'll even throw in an afternoon matcha!
• I have an unhealthy amount of love for dogs. I used to be a mother of two, a German Shepherd and a Border Collie. Now I'm the fun auntie to all my friends' fur babies!
